What do you guys think if there was a federal law that required all gas pumps to display a sticker indicating where the oil in the product originated from?
Example:
The petroleum resources used in this product originated from the following countries:
Saudi Arabia...................................65%
Kuwait.............................................30%
Canada.............................................. 5%

Big Brother Blog Snooping
A good friend of mine recently said in one of his comments on this site, "You really think Big brother is reading these blogs and has someone on their payroll hiding under your bed?"
*sigh*
A federally-funded artificial intelligence lab is figuring out how to track people over the Internet, based on how they write.

What we've got here is failure to communicate...
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before
Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before
My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars
D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land
...
I got my black armband on, how about you? Doing anything today for International Day of Peace? Post a comment and let me know.

Republicans Block Voting Machine Testing in Ohio
This is not good for Democrats in Ohio. Voters there need to rally and organize to countermand this grievous public injustice. All votes must be counted and all votes must count. That said, if Ohio Republicans have anything to do with it; the state will reprise its ignominious stage role as the "New Florida" in the much-awaited 2008 neocon sequel,

Yearwood was arrested by Capitol Hill police outside of a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee on 2007-09-10, and charged with disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer. According to Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, Yearwood was stopped from entering the room after attempting to cut in front of people waiting to get in. “What he tried to do was jump to the front of the line. He was told he couldn’t do that,” Schneider said. “And he pretty much charged at the officers to get past them into the room, after he was told not to.”
In a press release from the Hip Hop Caucus Yearwood said that he was prevented from entering the hearing because he was wearing a button that says "I love the people of Iraq." In the press release he called his arrest an example of “democracy while black.” Furthermore, UPI reports that the video being circulated on the Internet "does not seem to show an assault."
Yearwood was treated at George Washington University Hospital "for injuries to his ankle" according to Liz Havstad, a spokeswoman for the Hip-Hop Caucus.

I'm still alive!
Sorry I havent posted much recently. I'm back to school now (Tuesday and Thursday nights). The class is Drawing 2, which fullfills one of my electives for my degree. Not that I'm worried about a degree at this rate, but still. I have the same great drawing teacher from Drawing 1 and we seem to have a great, very small and close class already. So that's nice.
One of the girls from class and I decided to go and try out for this season's play that the college is holding - "Monster" by Neal Bell (a play based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein). And we got parts! It was a really step to overcome just trying out. So now I have the challenge of actually playing the part.
Honestly I'm nervous about the whole ordeal. I'm really worried that I'll just mess everything up and forget my lines and just draw a blank on stage. I still remember back to the fourth or fifth grade being in a play and not remembering any of my lines and having to read them off of a paper. Thankfully the paper was a prop for me (I played a lawyer) but it was still a terrifying scenario. Sort of that naked in school dream sorta scared.
However it's a small part so I should be fine. I actually really surprised myself at how I sounded reading the lines and putting emotion into it. I really love this stuff, but man it's nerve racking.

Four-fifths of all our troubles would disappear, if we would only sit down
Do you know someone who needs hours alone every day? Who loves quiet conversations about feelings or ideas, and can give a dynamite presentation to a big audience, but seems awkward in groups and maladroit at small talk? Who has to be dragged to parties and then needs the rest of the day to recuperate?
