Well today was the day that we all got tattoo's. I took my mom and sister to Spectrum Studios in Sidney (Ohio). And we all took the plunge. My sister got a kanji (sp?) symbol for love on her lower back, my mom (a huge Elvis fan) got TCB (Takin' Care of Business) and a lightning bolt on her calf and I got the bird drawing I showed a few posts ago and as you can see in the picture.
I just got the outline done and I am TOTALLY loving it. The artist - Dave "Sandman" wanted to do a little fill in work with a gray wash to make it pop out a little. I think it's a totally cool idea but I wanted to go with just the outline for a few weeks to see how it grows on me. I might go back and get the gray wash added into it for some filler, but everyone says they like the design sort of simple how it is.
The pain? Nah it didnt hurt. Haha ... the worst part was the initial press of each line, which sort of felt like a hard scrape on your skin. Then the rest of the line was like a buzz and about 1/3rd of the way into the tat I was pretty well buzzing from the whole endorphin/pain kick and it actually felt pretty damn good. There were a few tender spots over parts of my spine, but that just added to the fun of getting it really. I can TOTALLY see this becoming something I could get addicted too.
I still cant get over I got a tattoo. This is so great and shocking and amazing all rolled into one.
